If you know me, you know I never travel without booking a professional photographer. From our first adventure in Italy back in 2016 to the misty highlands of Scotland, our wedding in Costa Rica, Spain, and most recently another dreamy Italian getaway — we’ve captured each destination through professional photos.

This was my third brand session with Mind Body Birth, a wellness and birthing center in Los Angeles. Each time I photograph this incredible team, I feel like I’m witnessing something truly special.

Faith, the founder, trains a new group of midwives annually. This means we always update their headshots to reflect the team’s growth and evolution. This latest session was particularly exciting: welcoming Tamara, and Tchala officially became a partner alongside Faith. These were significant advancements for the practice, and it was a joy to document their evolving dynamic.

It was my second time having the pleasure of working with Meg of Harmony Marketing, and each session reinforces my love for collaborating with other marketing and branding teams. When clients understand the crucial concept and need for impactful brand photos and we put our collaborative minds together, the session becomes truly amazing.

Since that sweet milestone, I’ve had the absolute privilege of photographing this wonderful family every spring and fall. It’s truly been an honor to witness their journey and capture their growth year after year.

As 2024 comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the connections, stories, and wins that made this year what it was. Even in a year that had its challenges, there were so many moments worth celebrating.

This year has been a wild ride, hasn’t it? So many ups and downs, unexpected twists, and moments that felt like just surviving. I know I’m not alone on this struggle bus—so many of you have shared similar stories of change, loss, growth, and just trying to keep it all together. But through all the chaos, there’s still so much to be grateful for, and I want to take a moment to reflect on that with you.

I have a confession to make this year… ready for it? I didn’t take my annual family photos. For the first time in over 12 years, I skipped it. Every year, without fail, I’ve made it a priority. Whether we’re home or traveling, capturing these moments has been my tradition. I usually hire a photographer to document these precious memories that turn into holiday cards, keepsakes, and reminders of all that the year held. But this year, life had other plans.
