When it comes to social media marketing and being a personal brand strategist, there are so many hats that are worn. For our session with Corine of InSocial, we wanted to make sure to show how many hats small business owners wear. She bought 6 different ones and I came up with about a dozen different ways to visually use the hats to relate to her business, strategies messaging and storylines.
For this shoot, we chose to do a studio rental! For some shoots, it just makes things so much easier. I love outdoor locations, but this studio allowed for more time, creative freedom, and ease for both myself and the client.
Being on a branding shoot is like a bonding session for myself and the client, ha! She was so fun to work with and up for anything. We had so much fun laughs and creative flow between us. Building relationships like this helps each and every shoot get more exciting and flowing too.
One of my favorite creative shots is Corine with the phones surrounding her. As a social media manager and strategist, it lended itself for the perfect visual story of all phones coming at her, her ready to accept work, too much work, frustration and the demand of her role!
Often times, clients have no idea the concept or message or idea I have in my head when I ask them to bring specific props or pose in specific ways. I love that they fully trust me and then when I show them the image and explain my strategy the pure ‘omg’ excitement, ‘that’s so cool’ is so rewarding for both of us.
For instance this happened with the image of Corine pulling the phone out of her pocket. She didn’t have the slightest idea why I was asking and I could see in her face she was like ‘umm ok I guess but this is odd’. She went with it and then I showed her the image and the concept and she was ecstatic. This is what a branding session with me is all about. Making those creative moments happen that are strategic for your marketing. Between the phone out of the pocket and then the multiple hands from her assistant and mine surrounding her with a phone, these creative strategies are what excite me about these branding sessions.
I knew we wouldn’t get to everything in that one session and that was perfectly fine because she booked our quarterly session package so we can continue to expand on her sessions, tell more stories, and fill in the gaps as she uses her images all year round as her business grows and changes.
One of the notes she provided was, “Since my last shoot, I ended up revamping my services all together. Would love to brainstorm some fun ways we can bring those to life in photos? You can see the offerings on my site here https://www.getinsocial.co/“. This is a perfect example of why quarterly sessions are incredible to have, your ever-growing brand!
Messages like these from clients after a shoot are truly why I do what I do! “Krista!!!! You are AMAZING!!! SOOO Many fun shots! This is officially my favorite branding session to date! Thank you!! I cannot wait to begin to share them!”
Thinking that a branding shoot could be good for your business? You’re probably right! Let’s chat, no strings attached!
