The Sparkling Greyhound Recipe

January 11, 2023

Try this simple, light and refreshing cocktail to kick off your January. It can also be made as a mocktail.

The Sparkling Greyhound

This cocktail can be made multiple ways, including as a mocktail for Dry January. Fun fact, I ran out of club soda because Aldo tried to do Dry January and drank it all (did you know January only has 6 days? lol). I had champagne on hand and substituted club soda for champagne and I have to say it’s delicious! Give it a try either way! A clean and refreshing start to the New Year!

INGREDIENTS

Sugar Rim

  • Grapefruit Juice
  • Turbinado Sugar (I used refined sugar, tasted just as good).

Honey Syrup

  • 1/4 Cup Honey
  • 1/8– 1/4 Cup Warm water

Sparkling Greyhound Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz Grapefruit juice
  • 1.5 oz Vodka
  • .5 oz Honey Syrup
  • Club Soda or Champagne
  • Fresh thyme

DIRECTIONS

For the Sugar Rim

  1. Dip the rim of a rocks glass into grapefruit juice (or rub the squeezed grapefruit half around the rim), then dip into turbinado sugar. Add ice to the glass.

Sparkling Greyhound Cocktail

  1. Pour vodka, grapefruit juice, and honey syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the prepared glass.
  2. Top with club soda or champagne and garnish with a sprig of fresh thyme.

If you’re doing Dry January, try it as a mocktail – take out the vodka and use club soda!
