Benefits of a Full Session?

Here’s all the deets on how to decide between a mini and full session

To continue on last week’s topic, I get asked a lot… should I do a full session? A mini session? So today I will be going over all the differences!

Why I Love Full Sessions

I love spending time with my clients, getting to know them and their distinctive personalities, individually and as a family. I like to take my time with my clients, allowing them to relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera. A full session allows for just this. It not only allows you to choose the date, time and location, but really focuses on the details and capturing the connection and moments. Maybe even an outfit change or documenting a special moment, like the 1st Birthday cake smash you will see in the gallery below.

You just can’t compete with more time to allow for those connections. Those candid fun moments or those sweet snuggles that happen in-between the portraits. Sometimes your kids just needs time for a melt down! Or you want to be able to add in the grandparents so that you can use the photos for a variety of things.

What is included?

We will deliver 75+ images with add-on options, 3-4 weeks after your session via an in-person review. This means you get to come to our office and choose your favorite images!

Add-ons include, but are not limited to, gift prints, framed/canvas prints, holiday cards, photo ornaments, and albums.

Why Mini Sessions are Great, Too!

I love shooting all the sessions for the holiday cards and key moments in my clients’ lives, and understand how convenience is very important. During a mini session, we are able to get a few shots for your holiday card. We can also get some shots to update your walls or a headshot, but a full session offers more options. However, I also know that you sometimes desire family portraiture for a specific purpose – like a quick engagement session to get comfortable with the camera or the one image with all the family for the holiday card or a quick session to update your website profile image. These often don’t require the time a full session would provide.

Mini sessions allow current clients the potential to have multiple sessions throughout the year. This allows them to document the moments that change in an instant, and are a great way for a new client to have a small taste of the Krista Mason Photography experience. Last week I also did a post all about mini sessions and answered a lot of your burning questions. Be sure to check that out here!

Time to Choose….

A mini session might be a good fit for you if you just want a few good photos for holiday cards or update your walls, are willing to go with the flow of your family and whatever that day brings (meltdowns and all!). Read more about what a mini sessions is and if it’s right for you and your family.

A full session might be for you if you have a specific set of shots in mind or a specific idea of location and time and you don’t feel comfortable with the unpredictability of a shorter spot to accomplish your ideal session.

All of the images from this post are from a single full session. During this session, we captured the girls on their horses, playing, and two outfits! Feel free to get creative with your location, whether that be your home, the beach, a park, wherever is special for your family!
