As much as I encourage to book before baby is due with our ‘floating date based on delivery’ to ensure that we capture your newborn, sometimes things happen and that isn’t always possible. 1 year sessions are one of my favorites to capture. Still a little baby, but with so much personality and curiosity as they learn to live in this world and grow.

They interact with props are show you what they like and don’t like, and it is so fun to see how Mom and Dad react too!

How crazy that at the time, the only way you could see a new little family member was via photos and the computer screen.

As most of you have probably noticed or seen, I have shifted away from weddings and more into lifestyle branding and family sessions! I NEVER, and I mean NEVER, thought I would be ok letting go of weddings, but here I am and I couldn’t be happier.

For a newborn session with poses like our samples, it’s best to capture them when they are under 2 weeks (even premature babies where possible). While this is usually a stressful time for new parents, it’s also the time when baby is sleepiest, and most cooperative.

The Los Angeles Arboretum is the absolute perfect place for family photos with the kids! They get to run around and have fun to burn off some energy. Not to mention that there are lots of beautiful places to photograph and explore. It’s almost like a mini adventure with a few photos in-between. Truly a gorgeous place that the parents can joy and kids can be kids!
