This was my third brand session with Mind Body Birth, a wellness and birthing center in Los Angeles. Each time I photograph this incredible team, I feel like I’m witnessing something truly special.

Faith, the founder, trains a new group of midwives annually. This means we always update their headshots to reflect the team’s growth and evolution. This latest session was particularly exciting: welcoming Tamara, and Tchala officially became a partner alongside Faith. These were significant advancements for the practice, and it was a joy to document their evolving dynamic.

A Live Birth During the Shoot!

Talk about an unexpected turn! When I arrived for the session, one of Faith’s clients was already in full labor. We’re talking active contractions and intense birthing energy.

Despite the profound event unfolding, the entire Mind Body Birth team remained calm, focused, and perfectly synchronized. They seamlessly supported their client while still making time for our scheduled headshots and group photos. We worked quietly and mindfully, adapting our pace. Faith even managed to step out for a few quick shots between checking-in on the mom-to-be. The baby wasn’t born during our shoot, but the experience was unforgettable.

Honestly, I could fill a book with the wild, beautiful, and unpredictable moments I’ve photographed over the years. This session would certainly earn its own dedicated chapter.
