Harmony in the Frame: Brand Shoot for Harmony Marketing

Branding

May 30, 2025

It was my second time having the pleasure of working with Meg of Harmony Marketing, and each session reinforces my love for collaborating with other marketing and branding teams. When clients understand the crucial concept and need for impactful brand photos and we put our collaborative minds together, the session becomes truly amazing.

Meg, a brilliant mind in the marketing world, knew exactly what she needed to refresh her website and social media content. This clarity allowed us to be incredibly efficient, capturing an incredible amount of content in a short time! She arrived with a fully planned and laid-out vision, even down to where each photograph would be used through her website and socials etc.

This is typically the benefit of having multiple brand sessions. Your initial brand session typically focuses on capturing your brand in a general sense, covering everything from “working” shots, BTS moments, detail shots, and creative processes, to multiple outfits and poses. This ensures you have a comprehensive gallery to kickstart your content. A subsequent shoot, however, can be much more niche-focused, refining what worked best, replacing outdated images, and strategizing for even more impactful visuals – just like we did for Meg!

The session itself was a testament to thoughtful planning. Meg brought in her creative partner and some “clients”/friends, which beautifully facilitated shots showcasing connection and interaction, perfect for capturing authentic behind-the-scenes and creative process moments. If finding actual clients for your shoot is a challenge or makes you uncomfortable, remember that friends are an excellent alternative and can create those perfect, genuine scenes!

I always emphasize the importance of detail shots and flatlay set-ups. They are incredibly versatile for website design and copy overlay, and just look how Meg effectively used them in her content!

“Krista is the best branding photographer I have worked with in Los Angeles! She has a great eye for detail, she makes you feel really comfortable and finds ways to pull out your personality in the shots. This is my second time working with Krista for branding shots for my company Harmony Marketing. She was able to match the exposure from my old images to the new ones so I am able to use the content interchangeably on my website and other digital platforms.”

The day of the shoot presented a bit of a challenge with an overcast sky and a dark corner we wanted to utilize. But thank goodness for flash! With its help, you’d never even know the lighting wasn’t naturally perfect.

Fun Fact: A couple of weeks after this fantastic shoot, Meg embarked on an exciting new adventure: moving to Copenhagen to launch her marketing business abroad! It’s been inspiring to follow her journey – a true “Emily in Paris” moment, but in all the best ways!
