With the rise of social media and online platforms, businesses need to create compelling visual marketing content to attract and retain their audience’s attention. Brand photography is a powerful tool that can help businesses tell the stories and meet the needs of different marketing streams.
Brand photography involves creating a set of high-quality images that showcase a business’s products, services, and brand identity. These images can be used across different channels such as websites, social media, news articles / interviews and more to create a consistent and visually appealing brand image.
It is important to understand that different marketing streams require different image needs and during your branding session it is best to tell those stories and be sure to capture images that appeal to as many of these platforms as possible.
Social Media
Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and even LinkedIn are all about creating visually appealing content that grabs users’ attention. Instagram is more about high-quality photos and videos that tell a story or showcase a product/service. Branding photography helps businesses create a set of images that can be used across different social media platforms. This can include images such as behind-the-scenes glimpses, work environment shots, community-building, and personal touches to create a relatable and engaging visual narrative. These provide your audience with stories of your business and showcase your brand through imagery.
Email Marketing
Email marketing requires businesses to create compelling images that will entice their mail list to open the email and take action. Branding photography can help businesses create images that are relevant to the email’s subject matter and visually appealing. The images used in email marketing should be simple, clear, and related to the email’s subject matter. Including too many images can also overwhelm the recipient and reduce the email’s effectiveness. I usually suggest 1 image per topic and only 1-2 topics per email. However, I do break my own rules and occasionally include 4 topics each with an image.
Website
Website marketing demands high-quality, visually appealing images that are relevant to the website’s content and optimized for loading speed. Slow-loading images can frustrate visitors and increase bounce rates. Branding photography can assist businesses in creating images that showcase their products, services, or brand identity, and can be displayed throughout their website. This includes lifestyle photography that illustrates the ideal client’s desired lifestyle, creating a relatable and aspirational visual experience, as well as showcasing the product or brand.
Print / Publications
Print advertising relies on high-quality images that effectively convey the brand’s messaging, evoke emotions, and highlight the unique selling proposition. These images must be visually appealing and cohesive with the overall brand image, creating a compelling visual story that resonates with the target audience. These images should be professionally captured and align with your brand’s overall identity to make a strong impact in print advertising materials.
Packaging and Product
Professional product images that showcase your product’s features, packaging, and branding, creating a memorable impression on potential customers. Simple white backgrounds can be used for product purchasing pages, while lifestyle images that demonstrate how customers can use and incorporate the product into their lives can create relatability and drive purchase decisions.
