This couple was expecting their first baby girl and we couldn’t have been more excited for them!
This couple reached out to me for a maternity and newborn session. About 2-3 months before she was about to deliver, her dad passed away and she was devastated and decided that she wanted to pass on the maternity session. However, her mom and husband convinced her to proceed with the session. I couldn’t agree more.
Losing a loved one is one of the toughest things in life to experience, and a reminder to cherish all those moments. Everyone grieves differently, so I didn’t want to push Sheridan in any way to do her session, but I am so thrilled that her mom and husband did. It was more important than ever to capture these memories and moments because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Sheridan was so thrilled that she decided to move forward with the session.
Her husband surprised her with a sweet airbnb rental in Topanga Hills and it was the perfect spot for their maternity session and a beautiful get for them.
Sheridan included a picture of her dad for the maternity session. Since her dad also loved cowboy hats we did a quick little nod to that with the cowboy hat wall at the air bnb, too funny. I heard stories about their families, got to know them and captured this beautiful moment for them to cherish and share with the rest of their family from all over.
It’s hard having so much distance between families, and theirs is New York and Norway based, so travelling during this time of a pandemic was not an option. What better way to share the experience than with photos and perfect memories for baby Poppy to have of her poppi.
Introducing Baby Poppy
Get ready for your heart to melt. Poppy was named after Sheridan’s dad. They had planned on having baby girl call him Poppi, after he passed the name for baby girl was obvious to them, Poppy. ❤️
