1st Birthday Photos are some of my most favorite to capture. It’s not only a time to document baby, but also the parents! It’s their first anniversary of taking care of a little human! I love when the parents want to be involved in these 1st birthday shoots. At 1 years old, we definitely have to just roll with it during our sessions, these little ones have thoughts and opinions of their own!

Zoe was turning 1 and is the cutest, happiest baby. She loves dogs and people, and activities like being thrown in the air and peekaboo – which are perfect for 1st birthday photos! Our biggest challenge with sweet Zoe is that she doesn’t every stay still (Mom warned us of this ahead of time), and thankfully we are experts on exactly that.

We wanted to capture some details of Zoe’s first birthday, before her party! This was the perfect way to snap details and allow the family to be in the moment during their event. Mom sent Pinterest inspiration ahead of time, to show me their forest-y vision. It was so adorable, with the cutest smash cake!
