8 ways to turn your portrait session into a fun family activity guaranteed to bring smiles to everyone’s face!
We are all stuck at home this summer (and now most likely fall) and I know that sounds like a huge bummer. I am here to tell you you can still have fun, and even better news is that you can create fun adventures and capture your family portraits all while at home this summer! I am sharing 8 ways to turn your portrait session into a fun family activity guaranteed to bring smiles to everyone’s face!
Holi Powder and Smoke Bombs Family Feud
Colorful Bold and Playful is the name of the game here. With some Holi powder and smoke bombs you can turn a family session into a fun family feud color explosion! The kids LOVE this one – oh and so do the adults! One of my favorite sessions to date with Aldo and I!
Abstract Paint War
Throw some paint and create a masterful abstract art piece to add to the memory! Kids love to make a mess and this is just another way to let them be them and capture those precious smiles a la natural!
A Swim at the Beach
Beach Day with the babies is the best day! They love the sand and water and summer is the perfect time to allow them to explore! And the older kids love it too!
Creek or River Splash
Summer is time for all types of water. Let’s go splashing around in the local creeks and enjoy a picnic or hike together!
A Family Hike
Explore nature with a local hike. Yeah you won’t be in yoga pants and sneakers, but it still can be fun! I hiked Arthur’s Seat in a skirt for our Scotland portraits and it was totally worth it!
Ice Cream Social
Nothing says summer like ice cream! Let’s have some fun with some ice cream cones from your local shop or set-up an ice cream social station in your backyard and have fun making it together and of course enjoying it.
A Dip In the Pool
Pool time shenanigans are fun for all. Don’t be shy, your kids don’t care what you look like in a swimsuit. They care that you were playing and splashing along with them creating awesome memories!
S’mores Campfire
My favorite reason for camping…S’mores!! This was a childhood favorite and such a fun activity (and reward) for the kids after. These can be taken at a local picnic area, hiking area or even your own backyard.
Let’s have some fun this summer and remind the kids staying at home and taking portraits can be fun! So what’s your favorite idea or do you have one I didn’t think of. Do tell.
Let’s schedule your session today!
