Well, here we are again with one of my favorite people, Lina, and her baby Cruz. I always love to kick off the year with a newborn session. Reminds me of a new start and a fresh beginning. I mean, come on…aren’t they just the cutest to look at? Gives you all the snuggles and cuddle feels, right?!

We know that sometimes deciding to do a newborn session can be tough. You hear that we photograph in the first 3-10 days and you’re wondering, “How in the world am I going to incorporate a newborn session into your already chaotic schedule that this precious little baby has just turned upside down?” We get it. As a matter of fact, Lina was in the exact situation. She kept going back and forth, trying to decide if she should do a session. But she made the decision and just decided to do it – and it was probably her best decision ever!

She called me and we got her scheduled asap, because before you know it, those first 10 days will have come and gone, and the window to photograph a newborn is gone. This is why we highly recommend scheduling the session before baby even arrives. That way, it’s on the calendar and you won’t forget or let the time pass you by. Because, as any new mom will tell you, you won’t remember what day it is, maybe even what your husband looks like, much less have the brain power to call and schedule a newborn session.

Lina told me she is so glad that she did it. Even though it was a struggle during those first 2 weeks and maybe not in the budget for that month, she cherishes those images to this day and reflects back on how tiny he was. All the emotions of having this little man come into her and her husbands world and changing their meaning of love and life come flooding right back. It doesn’t get any better than that!
