Well the first leg of our Italian trip has come to an end. It has been so awe inspiring and magical. The beauty, history and livelihood of Florence has been incredible. I felt like I was in a Felini movie as we tooled around and explored Florence through the alleys and shops… and of course we ate our way through every bit of it. It would have been a sin not to! Omg…the food. I can’t even begin to explain how freaking amazing it is. The simplest pastry like a croissant was absolutely to die for and just melt in your mouth. The flaky buttery rich sweetness and the smell…OK, I have to stop because I might cry. And the pizza. Ohmygod…thePizza. Have to say, it’s not my favorite food in the states. I will pick pretty much anything but pizza, but in Florence we ordered pizza with every meal and I couldn’t get enough. It was just amazing and again, it would have been a sin not to order it with every meal. I don’t know how I am going to eat anything with such joy once we get back home. It just doesn’t compare. Everything is packed with so much flavor and pureness and simplicity. It’s true when they say you eat your way through Italy…and it has been spectacular!And the wine…this cocktail girl just may switch over after all. That is if we can find me the right wine. And so far that hasn’t been a problem. So amazing how different and indulgent everything is. But also, it’s so light and wholesome. The people, the food, the wine and the scenery are absolutely breath taking!

I had so many favorite things I enjoyed in Florence from walking the alleys to visiting Boboli gardens! That place was amazing! In the states, it’s pretty cool when something is like a hundred years old. That’s new to these people! 

One of my favorite things to see in Florence was the Boboli Gardens.

It was everything I envisioned Florence to be from the stone buildings to the lined tree walkways to the stunning views of Florence. It was beyond beautiful and so much more than a garden. I was in awe and just so taken by the detail and massiveness of the property. What a beautiful site to photograph! Unfortunately, the day our portrait session was scheduled, the gardens were closed… it would have been a dream location, I mean of course besides the ally ways which are my favorite. The arching tree lined pathways with all the vibrant green branches weaving all over and the ancient stone architecture of the buildings creating a soft and pastel background. It is the perfect place to photograph.

The cobblestone streets in Florence are just amazing, but then add some rain…and OMG, I was in photography heaven! The droplets of rain coming down with the bustling town weaving in and out of the umbrellas…straight out of a movie moment! I loved capturing the streets in the rain. Well really anytime, but there is just something so magical about this historical place when it is raining. I am so thrilled we got to experience it.
