Photographing a maternity session is so delightful! It’s all about this tiny little thing growing in mom – changing her body – only to come out 9 months later and be the most precious joy and love she could ever imagine. Being able to capture that cute baby bump and the intimacy that mom has with her unborn child is priceless. So much love, excitement, joy, fear and anxiety, ready for this baby to finally get here.Since mom and dad were relocating to Chicago, Stacey wanted to do her maternity session with a California vibe to remind her and her daughter (Callie) where it all started! How cute is that, she named her daughter Callie as a remembrance of California! The green and open home in Marina Del Rey where the nursery was in progress was the heart of the photo shoot location. The lighting in Stacey’s home was perfect and allowed me to capture some sweet and beautiful belly photos in the nursery. The black and white film really brought out the old Hollywood vibe and the colorful print dress was a perfect selection for natural tones in the nursery. 

I love adding a print dress to a neutral background. It adds so much character without being too distracting for the subject. 

This shoot was very simple yet so classic and beautiful. Miss you Stacey and thanks for letting me capture your baby bump just days before you left for Chicago!
